BattleFrog: Traveling the Rocky Road

The BattleFrog Series burst onto the obstacle racing scene in 2014 with big obstacles, great courses, helicopters, Navy SEALS demonstrations. They pulled in some of the brightest minds in obstacle racing from around the industry. Most importantly they had a backer with a deep pocketbook ready to spend what was needed to launch a race on a national scale.

While not a full 6-feet under, 6 Death Racers (or was it 7) were buried alive. Read that again - buried alive. Eulogies from their dear friends wafted through the air as these select finishers were laid to rest in actual plywood caskets laid in the ground, that were nailed shut and even covered by dirt for good measure.

Warrior Dash Washout

For much of the country it has been a wet spring, rain has plagued many races this year and made for extra muddy courses. Over the weekend Warrior Dash was at the mercy of mother nature and her force was strong. Combined with severe weather, flooding, and limited access to the course by the medical staff Warrior Dash was forced to make the tough decision to cancel their event yesterday.

BattleFrog on ESPN: Welcome to the Sport of Obstacle Racing

Last night the sport of obstacle racing took a huge step forward. Many obstacle racing enthusiasts tuned into ESPN2 for the first of the three part series covering the BattleFrog Collegiate Championships. The format featured 16 college teams from around the country competing in a head-to-head relay on a short obstacle packed course.

The controversy comes after a podium photo posted online from the Reebok Spartan Race in Montreal featured the elite men posing with founder Joe De Sena. In the photo the male winner, BattleFrog Pro Team athlete, Ryan Atkins shirt was been altered to coverup the BattleFrog logo.
