Race Review: Green Beret Challenge- Operator St. Louis

Green Beret Challenge, an Obstacle Course Race (OCR) series that includes a normal OCR style race (Operator), a four-person team challenge/race (Commando) and even endurance challenges that are 12 hours (XII) and 24 hours long (Behind Enemy Lines). However, they only run one event per weekend, and recently I got to experience the Operator near St. Louis, MO.

Last year Tough Mudder rolled out their eight-hour overnight Ultra-Obstacle Course Race (Ultra-OCR) series Toughest Mudder. Having done three events last year as part of the Toughest Mudder Series, I signed up to do the same thing this year, which concluded for me at Toughest Mudder East (Boston).

Attending a Spartan National Championship series race is akin to attending a big Hollywood movie premiere.  The movie isn’t going to be different, the obstacles are all the same, but all the stars are there! With immense pride and passion, the Hesco Bonefrog was held in Stanhope, New Jersey on June 16th, 2018. The Hesco Bonefrog is known for being one of the best OCR events around thanks to its creators and designers, the Navy SEALS. As expected, the event did not disappoint or hold back on creating a challenging, but fun course that also displayed patriotism.

Muckfest MS was held on both Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10 at The Glen Mills Schools in Glen Mills and Thornbury Township Pennsylvania; we were there on Saturday. For those not familiar with the area, the venue is 30 miles outside Philadelphia and about an hour from my home in New Jersey. I raced with my twin sister Patti, my younger sister Chrissy and our friends Cara and Heather.

Athletes from all over the country traveled to BREC's Farr Equestrian Park in the heart of Louisiana to compete in the Louisiana Sports Festival Vanguard Race this past weekend, June 9 & 10, 2018. The outdoor sports celebration held in Baton Rouge Louisiana included obstacle course events, trail races, and mountain bike competitions.
