Race Recap: Spartan Race US National Championship Series, Seattle Super

Welcome back to the absolutely beautiful Pacific Northwest, where Spartan, once again, held its highly anticipated Seattle-area US National Series. It was an opportunity for OCR’s top athletes to secure their position in the US Championship in West Virginia, while also providing a rematch of sorts for those who were physically, mentally, and spiritually defeated after the mud fest that was the Seattle Super in 2017.

North American OCR Championships Names MudGear Official Sock

MudGear has been a favorite for many obstacle racers for years. Today North American Obstacle Course Racing Championships (NorAm Champs) named them the official sock for the upcoming championship event. The partnership includes a unique design just for the event.

Race Recap: Gladiator Rock n’ Run at Angel Stadium California

This year, Gladiator Rock n' Run Race decided it was time to evolve with the future, so the company vocalized their intrigue in organizing a stadium run. Spartan was the first to introduce it in 2012, and now many of the leading obstacle course racing brands are becoming fascinated with the idea of racing in their favorite arenas and ballparks.

Community Spotlight: MIT Tough Team USA

Chance are, you’ve seen someone with an MIT Tough Team jersey at any given obstacle course race you’ve run in the past few years. You might see some painted on smiley faces and #CHUCKSTRONG temporary tattoos on the cheeks or arms of the MIT members to commemorate the passing of one of their members, Charles Tumulak.

Race Recap: 2018 Charlotte Spartan Sprint

Before I start my race recap article, I must clearly state this recap was for the Saturday, April 7th, 2018 Charlotte Spartan Sprint. I think it is important that I inform everyone, since the Sunday, April 8th, 2018 Charlotte Spartan Sprint was a slightly different experience based on the drier weather. The rain on Saturday definitely added a degree of difficulty when it came to completing obstacles, especially as the day carried on.

Suffering from Irrational Grip Guilt Syndrome?

I heard a voice in my head notice that she didn’t grab onto that ball-shaped grip the same way I did, and fall completely to the ground like I did. This made me wonder why I didn’t try to cross it the same way? The terrible answer to this is because I now realize that I suffer from Irrational Grip Guilt Syndrome, or simply known to the medical community and abbreviated as (IGGS). Maybe.

2018 Spartan U.S. National Series Seattle Results

Spartan made the second stop of the 2018 Spartan U.S. National Series outside of Seattle, Washington over the weekend. With rugged terrain and over $15,000 in cash and prizes on the line, Ryan Kent and Lindsay Webster took top spots over the weekend.
