The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF) is hosting “Parkour 4 Parkinson’s,” a first-time Team Fox event organized by “American Ninja Warrior” Host and Foundation Board member Akbar Gbajabiamila. “Parkour 4 Parkinson’s” will be held in Thousand Oaks, California, on Sunday, August 5, and aims to raise $350,000 to support critical Parkinson’s disease (PD) research. Launched in 2017, the Under Armour Mountain Running Series is a trio of trail races that take place in Copper Mountain, CO, Killington, VT and Mt. Bachelor, OR. The first 2018 race concluded last week in Copper Mountain, CO where the base elevation was 9,800 feet and the peak elevation during the longest race, a 50K, was 12,000 feet. Runners completed either a 5K, 10K, 25K or 50K mountain run full of steep climbs, rocky terrain and beautiful woodsy downhill single track trails.

When I think of the epicenter of Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) progress, you imagine someplace in the United States with brands like Spartan, Tough Mudder, or OCR World Championships. What I don’t think of is a small country in the Middle East called Lebanon, but they have made two huge leaps in the sport that is unmatched globally.
World OCR announced the first Youth and University OCR World Championship to take place in conjunction with OCR Asia and Pilipinas Obstacle Sports Federation. The champion event is set to take place November 13, 2018, at SM MOA Arena, Pasay City (Manila), Philippines.
