Green Beret Challenge Championship Update

Earlier this year Mud Run Guide brought you the announcement of Green Beret Challenge’s (GBC’s) first championship event being held in Slab Fork, West Virginia on July 21st.  The main highlights include a $5000 prize for first (for both male and females), a 12-hour timed event with 30 Army Special Forces inspired obstacles.

Recap: Terrain Race Miami 2018

It was St Patty’s Day with the holiday an enthusiastic crowd gathered at Terrain Race. Many participants sported costumes in honor of the holiday, something that you don’t see as much of anymore.  There were also lots of volunteers at registration and in the festival area, which is always a good sign.  And of course, there was music!  Whatever else a race does, the music makes the atmosphere.

Tough Mudder’s New Course Format

Tough Mudder started off the 2018 season in New Orleans this past weekend with some visible changes. The biggest difference between the 2017 and the 2018 season was the five mile, two loop course format instead of one ten mile loop for anyone doing the Tough Mudder Full. On paper, it didn’t seem like that big of a difference, but on the course, it became clear that it had a very different feeling.

Conquer Youth: The Future Starts Now

Conquer The Gauntlet is putting out the call for all Obstacle Course Race (OCR) athletes to help inspire the next generation of athletes, fight obesity and ensure our sport has a future. Recently, Conquer The Gauntlet announced they will be breaking ground again with an Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) series just for kids. Unlike some kids based OCR events, Conquer Youth is its own stand-alone series with seven events scheduled in 2018 throughout the Midwest.

World OCR Establishes Headquarters in Switzerland

World OCR, the Fédération Internationale de Sport d’Obstacles (FISO), recently announced the founding of its legal home in Switzerland. World OCR (FISO) is the recently renamed IOSF (International Obstacle Sports Federation) which has been working for years to establish itself as the governing body for the sport of obstacle course racing.
