2016 Spartan Race Ultra Beast Championship Results

The 2016 Spartan Race Ultra Beast Championship in at Squaw Valley near Lake Tahoe, California was one for the books. The terrain was brutal for the athletes as they traversed the 2016 Spartan Race World Championship course twice. If the terrain was not enough to eat up the quads of the athletes the weather added an additional challenge to the day. However for two Canadian athletes the terrain and weather did not slow them down, Marco Bedard and Allison Tai would prove that the weather did not slow them down on their quest to the top of the podium.

2016 Spartan Race World Championship Results

Since the beginning of the Spartan Race World Championships in Glen Rose, Texas back 2011 one constant has been the drama of the sport. Over the weekend, this year's Spartan Race World Championships was no exception. The obstacle racing world saw Hobie Call become the first three-time Spartan Race World Champion as well on the women's side the first two-peat champion Zuzana Kocumova. The drama continued as the second and third place women Lindsay Webster and Faye Stenning battled it out in a burpee off finishing eight-hundredths of a second between each other.

2016 Ultra Beast Spartan World Championship – Predictions from a Mud Ball

As this is #RoadtoTahoe week, I decided to take a look at the race that is the Spartan World Championships shadow, and like Peter Pan’s, it has a personality all its own. The Tahoe Ultra Beast is going to be an event that probably deserves its own weekend, but what better way to showcase the mental imbalance of the racers, than adding it to the already stacked lineup. With two Ultra Beasts in the past 4 weeks (Vermont and Sun Peaks) and with WTM only a few weeks away, it will be interesting to see who shows up, and who shows up to race.

Top Men to Watch at Spartan Race World Championships

Reebok Spartan Race World Championship is only days away, yesterday we focused on some of the top women to watch going into the race and today the focus shifts to the men's race. This year the men's field is stacked with several men in striking distance of the top place on the podium. Last year Robert Killian Jr. shocked many in the racing community when he beat Ryan Atkins for the top spot, this year the race returns to Lake Tahoe with many of the past competitors headed back to the race as well as other looking to make their mark on the obstacle racing world.
