The turning point was when I got locked up. Seeing my mother cry and scream was the worst feeling I've ever felt. The worst part was that I caused all that pain. When I was in jail I decided it was time to change. I was not going to put my parents through that much pain ever again.
161 miles, 1000+ obstacles and 31,000+ feet of elevation gain. Spanning venues from Vermont to Oklahoma, multi-lapping for seven days in a row is how I spent the last week of my life. The event was Obstacle Course Race (OCR) America and was designed with three goals in mind. The first was to raise money for the charity Folds of Honor, which provides scholarship money to children whose parents were wounded or killed in US military action.
Last night, Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge Episode 5 aired on NBC. It was a battle of the titans last night with many well-known names in the sport going up against each other. Between the powerhouse team of Comeback Kids taking the win for the night featuring Beni Gifford, Ian Deyerle, Lynnae Kettler, Laura Messner and Matthew Campione to the teams anchored by Matthew "Bear" Novakovich, Eric Matta, and Ryan Kent. This was on of the episodes to watch of the season!

On Friday, Mark Ballas the founder of the race organization announced a new 24-hour event in the companies lineup called Behind Enemy Lines.
Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge returns to NBC this Thursday night at 9pm. This week features some of OCR's favorite athletes as six more teams go head-to-head to find out which team will advance to the finals. The show drew 3.71 million viewers last weekend airing after the Olympic Trials. Boosting it's numbers from the week before.
It’s been said that you never forget your first time. I certainly remember mine. It’s as if every part, down to the tiniest detail, is permanently engrained in my memory, like an indelible mark that cannot be washed away. All I have to do is close my eyes, and I’m back there, back in that instance when what seemed like an eternity of waiting finally ended. It almost seemed like a dream. “Is this really happening? Am I actually, finally going to do this?” A light bead of sweat began to form at the small of my back, the way it always does when the adrenaline begins to course through my veins.
