I started out in OCR when I was 50 years old.  I was that far out old man who the youngsters wanted to emulate.  They told me over and over they hoped they could be in as good shape when they were my age.  My goal is to be in this good shape for the rest of my life.

Spartan Race – Virginia Super

The 2018 Virginia Spartan Super kicked off on a damp and chilly morning. Recent storms had brought in a powerful cold front and substantial rain. Many Spartans were bundled up in coats, hats an gloves leading up to the start of their waves. While it did warm up as the day progressed, daytime temperatures only hovered in the mid-50s. The overcast skies and the cool, damp air was a textbook Fall Virginia morning.

What I Learned From My DNF

When Spartan announced a few days before this year's World Championship race in Lake Tahoe, that the course would be shortened by about four miles, I secretly let out a sigh of relief. However, I wasn't ready to experience a DNF and the stages of grief after not finishing a race.
