Arizona based Phoenix Evolution hosted their second annual OCR Relay Race benefitting PTSD Veteran Athletes. This unique obstacle course event paired racers who competed to complete as man obstacles as they could in 4 hours.
OCR fanatics in Arizona are lucky enough to have the Rugged Maniac come into town twice a year. The first Arizona Rugged of the 2019 race season was held April 6th at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler.
FIT Challenge is one of those small races in the obstacle course industry that seems to do everything right. It all starts from the ground up. The end result offers participants one of the best obstacle racing experiences at least in New England.
Whatever backyard setup you have for obstacle course racing it is nothing compared to the Newby family. The Newby’s have a full 5k OCR Newbsanity (plus 5k Extreme Ravine trail run across the street) to practice on daily. With Tough Mudder set to take over the venue for the next five years, May 19th will be the last event for The Battlegrounds as we know it. I’m hoping Tough Mudder incorporates some of The Battlegrounds existing obstacles into their race with a name like Tough Mudder’s Battlegrounds.
Mud Titan and Tactical Titan are small Florida based obstacle race series which has been around the industry since 2012. The races are run by Mike Nelson. This year the company expects over 6,ooo participants from its four events in 2018.
KC Timber Challenge offers the midwest it's own permanent obstacle course. Located in Bonner Springs, Kansas KC Timber Challenge has become a favorite among midwest obstacle racers since 2013. The race has grown from about 600 people at their first event to an estimated 8,000 this year over six events.
