Racing a Different Challenge: Altruism

As I’ve talked about before, everyone comes to an event with a different goal in mind. Some people would be happy to finish, while others are going for speed, and still, others are competing against each other to go even faster. In the Tough Mudder community, the ambassadors have started recognizing Mudders that Assist 100 Mudders through at least one obstacle during a single event.

Tough Mudder Whistler holds a place in my heart when it comes to OCR since it was my first one four years ago. The drive up from Seattle is always full of amazing views you get to take in along the way. The venue itself is still the same and it never disappoints.

Last year Tough Mudder rolled out their eight-hour overnight Ultra-Obstacle Course Race (Ultra-OCR) series Toughest Mudder. Having done three events last year as part of the Toughest Mudder Series, I signed up to do the same thing this year, which concluded for me at Toughest Mudder East (Boston).

Tough Mudder is known for their big obstacles that often require help from a fellow mudder. Everest has been a signature obstacle since Tough Mudder got their start in 2010. Over the years the obstacle has continued to evolve. However, teamwork and a helping hand have always been part of the obstacle. 

Tough Mudder Opens First Tough Mudder Bootcamp in Burlington, Massachusetts

Over the weekend Tough Mudder opened the doors to the first Tough Mudder Bootcamp training studio in Burlington, Massachusetts. This was the first of thirty studios that are expected to open soon. Tough Mudder Bootcamp’s take Tough Mudder Training outside major urban areas around the country with the next studio opening in Las Vegas later this summer.

Toughest Mudder South 2018 – Central Texas

I’ve done Tough Mudders, but this one takes the mud cake.  On a random whim thanks to a friend, I was convinced to do the Toughest Mudder rather than just the regular Tough Mudder.  Joking aside, I can say it was the absolute hardest race I’ve done to date.

Let’s talk about Liz Llorente’s “Burpee World Record”

I’m sure by now you’ve all seen the reports out of Australia, where a Liz Llorente “smashed” the world record for most burpees in 60 minutes. Barstool Sports has been circulating this video with a very candid critique of the mother from Melbourne.

OCR and CrossFit Stars to Showdown at Tough Mudder X World Championship

Tough Mudder and Kill Cliff announce top Obstacle Racing and CrossFit athletes will showdown at the Tough Mudder X World Championship. Top athletes from both worlds will compete for $70,000 in cash prizes. The event is set to take place June 8, 2018, in Richmond, Virginia with the showdown to be broadcast on CBS later in the summer.
