Spartan Race World Championship Ultra Beast Race Recap: Embrace Your Weaknesses, for They Will Make You Stronger

When you get into ultramarathons, especially ultra-OCRs, you will be taken through the highs and lows of performance and emotions. That makes running and watching them especially exciting. On any given day there is a good number of people could win the whole thing. Going into this event, there was a lot of hype regarding as many as 10 different guys who people thought could legitimately win the whole thing. Mine was one of the names being floated, which was an honor and put some more pressure on me. To share with you the joy and the experience of the event, here’s a race recap of the event and the drama about the competition. I’ll throw in helpful mini-tips for people looking to enter the ultra community or improve their racing.

Spartan Race Begins Educational Stage of USADA Anti-Doping Implementation at World Championships

Yesterday evening, Spartan Race put out a press release about an informational session at the Reebok World Championships with the USADA (United States Anti-Doping Association) as the first step towards drug testing for the race series. The initial press release had many shaking their heads as to what this all means and how it will immediately affect the athletes at the event next weekend. This morning we spoke with Spartan Race's Director of Sport - Joe Di Stefano to find out more about this announcement.

Reebok Spartan Race World Championships Approaching

Reebok Spartan Race World Championships are headed back to Lake Tahoe, California for a second year. On October 1-2, 2016 the Spartan Race world will converge on the former Olympic skiing venue. This year an international field of racers will be competing for $100,000 in cash and prizes. This year the event will also include Future NFL Hall of Famer Randy Moss who will be looking to complete the Spartan Trifecta by crossing the finish line of the weekend’s Beast competition.

Today, the company announced Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe is set to host the Reebok Spartan Race World Championship presented by North Lake Tahoe, on October 1, 2016. The 2016 Spartan Race World Championship is one of the many races taking place over the weekend. Athletes of all abilities, from elites to weekend warriors will spend the extended weekend racing and celebrating another successful Spartan Race season.
