3) ELITE: Bike 6 miles to the lake, swim 600 yards, bike 6 miles back to Shale Hill, and then finish with a 20K obstacle course (2 laps on the 10K course).
4) RELAY TEAMS: 3 members of the same team may sign up for the Relay Team Division. PLEASE ""create"" a team name and all members of that team are to sign up under that name at registration. Each member will be required to complete the following:
Bike member: 6 mile bike to lake & 6 mile bike back to Shale Hill
Swim member: 600 yard swim (2 laps on swim course in Lake Champlain)
Obstacle Race member: Run 10K obstacle course at Shale Hill

Phase 1 Bike: You will need a mountain bike for this phase as it is mostly dirt roads and some single track. There are two riding segments of the race as noted above in the division description.
Phase 2 Swim: The swim portion of this event will take place at Benson Landing on the southern tip of Lake Champlain (on the Vermont side). This will be an open water lake swim out to a buoy and back to shore. Then you will transition back onto your mountain bike for the ride back to Shale Hill. * NOTE - The swim is in shallow water, approximately 4' deep. At any time, you can stand or walk in the water if you feel uncomfortable swimming.
Phase 3 Bike: Get back on your bike to peddle back to Shale Hill.
Phase 4 Obstacle Course Run: The last leg of your division will take place at Shale Hill. You will run the designated obstacle course for your division:
* Sprint: 5K XC-Obstacle Course run involving around 30 military inspired obstacles and challenges (wall & rope climbs, ramps, crawls, sandbag/rock/slosh-pipe carries, drags, cargo nets, etc.).
* Power & Elite: 10K XC-Obstacle Course run involving over 60 military inspired obstacles and challenges (hurdles, walls, ropes, crawls, carries, cargo nets, monkey bars, tarzan swings, hoists, etc.). Elite division does the 10K twice!!!

Other:

Minimum Age is 14 y.o. to compete as of the date of the race.
Event is timed with splits for each phase.
And we have a hose down station available for clean up after the race.

All our races now have a Journeyman (non-competitive division). You may be here for a personal challenge, and the podium is the furthest thing from your mind. Maybe - the worry of completing everything, or penalties is keeping you away from Shale Hill! Journeyman is for you. It's for those who want to take part in our events, but not worry about penalties and obstacle completion. With Journeyman, you are your own competition. If you haven't got an obstacle yet and want to move on - you won't be penalized. Just cheer your friends on, and move on through the course. While you won't be eligible for prizes and podiums - you will get the same race experience, medals, shirts and course - that you take at your own pace, and your own speed.
Sprint, Power & Elite divisions for all age levels 14 & up can participate in the event without having to do penalities at failed obstacles. You will recieve a medal & shirt for finishing, but your score will not count towards prizes. This is a great way to participate without the pressure of competition and the fatigue encountered at multiple failed obstacles.

Team:

Relay Teams can sign up. 2-3 per team (1 person for each phase, or 1 person may do 2 phases and the 2nd person 1 phase).
