Course Description:
5K Mudder course with over 13 obstacles. There are 13+ obstacles including a mud pit, 80ft water slide, and a barbed wire crawl
Aid Stations:
There will be water and first-aid stations with volunteer EMS personnel along the course as well as race monitors patrolling the race. If you become injured and are in need of assistance or feel like you cannot complete the course, a race monitor will be able to return you to the registration area.
Awards:
1st, male and female in each wave awarded when the wave finishes.
Overall fastest male and overall fastest female will be announced on-line post race day and the awards will be mailed to them.
Spectators:
Spectators free.
Parking:
Parking will be at the parking garage at TSYS just off across the street from the CVS Pharmacy. Watch for signs. The parking garage is within walking distance to the event.
Other:
All proceeds from the Highland Mud Run go to the Real Life Youth Ministry’s mission fund. Our cause this year is Camp Twin Lakes. It’s a Camp for Georgia’s children with serious illnesses, disabilities, and other life challenges.
The Highland Mud Run has been designed to be fun and challenging. We want it to appeal to a wide range of participants. It will be a great team building exercise for any group. It’s not a typical 5K race. This will be more of an adventure for everyone participating. But it will be challenging so participants should be able to run, jump, swim, climb, crawl, slide etc.
Each wave will be timed. But remember this isn’t the typical 5K.. you will want to enjoy the obstacles and watching your buddies do them.
The minimum age is 12 years old and if you are under the age of 17 a parent/guardian must be present to sign a waiver.
There will be hosing off station for you to rinse off. It’s a good idea to bring a change of clothes.
There will be a swag bag check. You can store your personal items along with your swag bag items in a secure area. You race bib will be your bag check for after the race.
If you think an obstacle is too difficult you may go around it, but why not try it. We encourage you to run with a buddy or a team to help each other at the more challenging obstacles. Image you good you’ll feel when you get to the finish line and you did them all or you at least tried them all.
Team:
Yes, we encourage teams. You will have more fun if you have a buddy to get muddy with! There will not be a special wave for teams. Come show off your best team spirit.
