- Food, drink and live music are waiting at the finish line.
The St. Johns County Fairgrounds are situated on over 90 acres of land surrounded by swamp and brush. The course is designed for competitors at all levels of athletic ability.
The creators of Mud Mania have come all the way from Auburn, AL to St. Augustine, FL, the Oldest City, to bring us an extreme obstacle challenge consisting of a 5K run over acres and acres of mud, creeks, pasture and trails with a post-event party at the finish line which includes food, drinks, and live music.
Other companies have created a market niche based on channeling “the inner warrior in you,” with challenges created by military boot camp experts. This type of experience appeals to a very narrow market of extreme athletes. Mud Mania has been designed in a similar manner but with the purpose of attracting a broader audience who are looking to combine fun with fitness while channeling the “inner kid” in all of us.
We will have two aid stations, one on the course and one near the start/finish line. Yes, paramedics, fire and marine rescue will be on standby. And yes, there will be a water station on the course and there will be fruit and water at the finish line.
The team of 5 or more with the fastest time wins $500.
