Dear Ohio Participant,

We’re writing you regarding the Great American Mud Run scheduled for October 12, 2013 in Ohio. We regrettably have to cancel the event.

We hoped to provide a great race experience that is both entertaining and safe, but unfortunately we cannot. We understand this is a huge inconvenience for you and we sincerely apologize. As per our refund policy we do not offer refunds for any reason, to include event cancellation. While we are trying our hardest to refund all participants we are unable to do so at this time due to legal constraints outside of our control. We recommend that you immediately contact your credit card company to explore your available options.

Also scammed out of money. Just received email today that event was canceled and no refund. Called bank to report fraud. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE OF SIGNING UP! Find another reputable race event!

SCAM!

Sep 09, 2013 by Lacey

SCAM! Received an email 5 days before the event saying that the event was cancelled for no apparent reason. The email states they are unable to provide refunds due to legal constraints outside of their control. They also go on to say they do not have the staffing capacity to respond to any inquires and they do not provide and way of contacting them.

What a scam! Shame on those people! I hope we all can get our money back. Emailed today about this Saturdays race being cancelled and they even put the wrong date down. They put the date for the Texas race. Hope the Texas folks read these soon!

Another unahppy Ohioan

In 9 years of doing races/walks/etc I have NEVER had to deal with this. Been registered since June 2. Was so excited. Now out 150 bucks for me and spouse. Generic email stating events canceled, sorry no refunds. What a crock! I have been bugging my friends for donations for months for Wounded Wear. I HOPE they got their money. I am so upset. I researched this race so much before comitting and it seemed like such a great fit. I dont know what happened to this organization in June, but they owe a lot of people a LOT of money. My bank is helping. They have to wait till AFTER the event was to be done. Which is this Saturday. I hope someone holds these people responsible for the THOUSANDS of dollars they have stolen.

MAJOR SCAM!!!

Do not sign up for this! It is a scam! My friends and I signed up for the race that was originally scheduled for July 27th in Manchester, TN, but then we received emails saying that due to unforeseen logistical issues the race was being postponed until Nov. 2nd, and that we could either transfer to the new date or opt for a refund. We all opted for the refund, and followed the directions in order to receive the refund. They said that refunds would begin to be issued Aug. 1st. I emailed several times during the month of August requesting info on the status of my return, when I could expect it, etc. Today we received emails saying the Nov. race has now been canceled and that they had receive requests for refund from the original date, but that per their refund policy they don't offer refunds for any reason. This is theft. I see no reason why we can't enter a class-action lawsuit against the mud run. This is ridiculous. I want my money back, as I'm sure everyone else does, too!

Cancelled more than 90 days after I registered and a month before the event. These guys are straight up CROOKS. Can we say class-action lawsuit?

Anyone know a good lawyer that can help with these types of things?

I think it would be pretty easy to show a history of them cancelling and keeping the money as it's happened now at least 3-4 times per the comments below. I don't care what we agreed to when we signed up -- this shows a pattern of deceit and no good faith attempt to actually deliver on their promised event. I'd bet we have more than enough grounds to sue them ...

FRAUD SCAM

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY - CANCELLED ONE WEEK BEFORE FOR LOGAN OHIO AND WILL NOT REFUND MONEY

Sep 09, 2013 by Michael

Hey guys, I received a refund for the event. Call your credit card companies and get them to zap the money out of their account. As stated below most of us are probably out of our 60 day purchase protection but I convinced them otherwise. Here's how. I paid $73.20 on May 4th onto my VISA which put me out of purchase protection as of right now. However, the credit card company agreed with me on the fact that when I paid for that I was buying a service and not a product that at the time of purchase was expected to be redeemed to me on July 27th. Because of this they applied my 60 day purchase protection based on the date the service was expected to be redeemed to me and not on the date of purchase. Companies are not supposed to charge your card until product or service is received or shipped. My refund is coming direct from VISA now within the next 48 hours. Hope this helps you guys. Get your money back, don't roll over and let them steal from you.
