Last Week in OCR: Father’s Day Weekend

By |June 20th, 2016|

We raced in the stadiums, mountains, cities and waterfalls. Up bleachers, through rivers, and past casinos. We had the big names in the industry met with up-and-comers and local one-offs. The podiums were packed with the wonderfully insane men and women of our community, and even Father’s Day was mud-splattered.

Last Week in OCR: European Championships, Friday Night Lights and More…

By |June 13th, 2016|

Last Week in OCR: June 6, 2016 Edition

By |June 6th, 2016|

Happy Monday everyone! I hope y’all rested up well last week and enjoyed your time with family, because this weekend there was NO shortage of events to choose from, and the results pages looked like a roster of all the competitive OCR athletes we know. In other words, the competition was fierce, the races were out in full force and we proved there is plenty of something for everyone. It was an incredible weekend to be inspired by what we do and love, and get our mud on!

Last Week in OCR: Memorial Day Weekend Edition

By |May 31st, 2016|

While the OCR calendar kept it light for the Memorial Day weekend, knowing many of you would be favoring family time on this Memorial Day Weekend, a couple of our favorites did not want to leave you all in withdrawals and came to save the day, with mud and fun before they let everyone go about their business. Many of you did indulge in other ways, however, be it at home doing a Memorial Day Murph WOD, or hitting the trails doing a ruck in remembrance of those we have lost. It was inspiring to see so many posts from so many people, getting in hard work, while giving tribute to our fallen military family.

Last Week in OCR: May 23rd Edition

By |May 23rd, 2016|

What an incredible week to be an Obstacle Course Addict! With races from over 12 different race companies all over the globe, there was no shortage of options for whatever level of crazy you wanted to indulge in. Some East Coasters were even fortunate enough to do two events in one weekend, hitting Warrior Dash in NY and Tough Mudder in PA – and speaking of Tough Mudder, they proved this weekend that teleportation is a real thing, as they popped up not only in Pennsylvania but in Chicago and Central TX as well, to rave reviews in every location.

Last Week in OCR: Clash of the OCR Titans

By |May 16th, 2016|

Quantity over quality or quality over quantity? How about both? If you wanted to play in the mud this weekend, there was no shortage of events! From our tried and true staples, Like Double Spartan Races, An epic showdown at BattleFrog Series, Warrior Dash, Terrain Mud Run and Rugged Maniac, to more specialized races to get excited about, like the end of an era taking place at Mud Guts and Glory, the always highly anticipated Goliathon and a welcome reminder of what we love most about OCR at Conquer the Gauntlet – this weekend had it all.

Last Week in OCR: Mother’s Day Edition

By |May 9th, 2016|

If there was ever any doubt that the obstacle racing season was in full swing this weekend with over 50 races around the world happening at the same time put all doubts to rest. Both Spartan Race and Tough Mudder were in three different locations over the weekend as well as all the other major American series racing around the country. Internationally, XMan Race Series was in Toronto, Toughest in Sweden, Rat Race Dirty Weekend in the United Kingdom and more. Mother's Day Weekend did not stop many of the top athletes around the world from toeing the line. We bring you some of the highlights from the weekend in this week's Last Week in OCR.

Last Week in OCR – May 1st Edition

By |May 2nd, 2016|

This is the race SO many of you have been waiting for since the season kicked off. While Saturday racers had to rely on the insanity of the course itself, Sunday racers were treated to proof that Norm Koch has indeed made some dirty deals with a particular underground entity. Rain, wind and cold took out many a racer on this already incredibly challenging course, and even without all that on Saturday, when it came to numbers on the UB, over 800 started, but less than half finished.

Last Week in OCR: Tough Mudder Kicks off 2016 Season

By |April 18th, 2016|

If we needed any proof that the OCR season is underway, the last couple of weeks has surely proven it. Internationally, some of our favorite races peppered the globe, with London South England Dirty Dozen, Sydney Australia Raw Challenge, Madrid Spain Farinato Race, and Munich Germany Spartan Sprint. In the US, we were no slouches ourselves, hitting both coasts and plenty of states in between, our community took the country by storm and is showing no signs of slowing down.
