The United States obstacle course racing championships kicked off today with a three-kilometer short course in Mountain Home, Texas. Athletes from around the country traveled to take part in the time trial style race. Heats of eight racers were sent out every minute with awards for the top age group athletes.
After the success of the first Tough Mudder TM-X race which aired on CBS the race announced it is expanding in 2018. Currently, pre-registration is open for eight locations for a TM-X Open in 2018. The TM-X Open will be a feeder for the TM-X Championships later in 2018.
September is childhood cancer awareness month. Warrior Dash wants to help raise awareness and money for the cause. Since the beginning of Warrior Dash the company has been in partnership with St. Jude Chidldren's Hospital raising over $14 million dollars
Mud Run Guide has been on the ground since Tuesday at the first US OCR Championships put on by the same team that produces the OCR World Championships. The US Championships has been a joint effort by many of the top obstacle course racing brands in the United States (and beyond).
This year Tough Mudder introduced the 8-hour Toughest Mudder series as part of their road to World's Toughest Mudder. Athletes followed the series around North America and the United Kingdom. In the end of the series, Ryan Atkins locked up the first place position overall with Allison Tai taking the top spot for women and seventh overall in the series.

It is time for first independent US OCR Championships happening this weekend at Y.O. Ranch Headquarters in Mountain Home, Texas. The festivities kick off at the ranch on Friday evening with a welcome dinner before jumping into action with the 3K short course on Saturday and 15K long course on Sunday.

From starring on American Grit to being one of the first females to run with the Relentless team, this girl has the determination, spark, and sass needed to be a Badass both in OCR and athletic endeavors, and off course in her personal life.
