Race Recap: Spartan Race Citi Field 2017

By |May 19th, 2017|

Since so many people have been complaining that Spartan Races are becoming stale, they decided to call upon the weather Gods and order a huge rainstorm for the Spartan Race sprint at Citifield to mix things up. OK so maybe this isn’t true, BUT the weather was another obstacle we had to deal with.

Spartan Race made its annual Beast stop at Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon, New Jersey. Heavy storms rolled into the area early Saturday morning causing every wave of athletes to be postponed 30 minutes. Race Recap: Goal Interrupted – Back-To-Back Spartan Sprints With A Championship Twist

By |May 4th, 2017|

For years now I’ve been trying to find ways to push my limits in search of that DNF (Did Not Finish). I realize that may seem like a strange goal to many people. But ever since I started Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) over six years ago, I keep doing things that would not have seemed possible…only because I tried. Opinion: Spartan Spear throw Shenanigans

By |May 2nd, 2017|

Once again we saw the spear throw played a major role in the first Spartan Race US Championship Series event. Robert Killian stepped on his string while leading the race – a rookie mistake by his own admission. Of the women, I only know of Alyssa Hawley and Faye Stenning among the top pre-race contenders who actually made the throw.

Race Recap: Spartan Race Seattle 2017

By |April 27th, 2017|

This past weekend I traveled up to beautiful Snohomish, Washington to compete in the Spartan Race: Seattle Super/Sprint weekend. This race also happened to be the first stop in the U.S Championship series attracting OCR athletes from all parts of the country to give it their all in what was bound to be an exciting race that challenged all of us both mentally and physically. This is certainly not a course for the faint of heart.

Opinion: Spartan Live Feed – A Giant Leap Forward

By |April 24th, 2017|

For the week leading up to the event, Spartan Race promoted the live coverage of the event on YouTube, Facebook, and Spartan.com. Many wondered what the coverage would look like and how it would be received my the often fickle obstacle racing audience.
