The IMPI Challenge is so popular because anyone can participate. The entry categories cater for a variety of athletes, from elite sportspersons, competent and beginner runners and families looking for a fun experience.

Course Description:

Varied course of hills, flats, river beds etc.
Elite complete all 28 obstacles: tough course for trained athletes only.
Challengers complete 18 obstacles
Dash complete 9 obstacles
Mini have their own 1km course
Obstacles include 2m wall climbs, tyre pull, rope traverse, cinder brink carrying, 4m super slide, pipe crawls, various climbing structures

Aid Stations:

Advanced life support medics and paramedics on site
Water points every 3km
water and Coke available
Coke and water at the finish line

Elite Awards ceremony 11h30 Sunday 18th October
Elite Prizes: same for male and female winners:
1st R10000
2nd R5000
3rd R2500
1st Masters over 45 years age: R2000

Prizes:

Best Dressed costumes for winning team

Elite are expected to complete all obstacles on their own.

Impi is timed using LiveTime timing chips
There are swimming obstacles
Hot showers for after, bag drop for your stuff
There is food and drinks available so stay the day

Team:

Teams are welcomed and encouraged.
No special scoring, but you can track your time against your team mates and other teams.
