Any chance coming to Michigan? Have a middle school OCR team, and would love the challenge.

Alpha Warrior San Diego

Jun 19, 2013 by Jeff Foley

By far the best obstacle race out there. The obstacles were well designed, well constructed, and ridiculously fun. Experienced obstacle racers should be able to complete all of the obstacles with a focus on speed. People that are newer to the sport will have their hands full just trying to complete as many obstacles as possible. The event ran more smoothly than races that have been on the scene for years. I could not believe it’s only their second official event. The sky is the limit for Alpha Warrior. There is clearly a market for “mud-runs” but it’s great to have Alpha Warrior to fill the new need for a pure obstacle race. I will definitely be heading to Dallas for their next event.

Best. Race. Ever.

Jun 19, 2013 by Mike Regala

This is the race I've always been waiting for. All of the other courses I've run were either too much damn running, or not physically challenging enough. Crawling through mud or diving into a pool of ice water doesn't require athleticism and isn't challenging. Alpha Warrior addressed all of those issues and tested pretty much everyone... I saw plenty of big gym rats fail on the rings or spider wall. Elite wave for sure next time!

Waited for an event that didn't require you to run for miles to do a few obstacles. Alpha Warrior delivered.

The event I've waited years for!

Jun 19, 2013 by Andrew Espiritu

Like my title says, I have waited years for an event like this. I have been a big fan of Ninja Warrior so when I saw Alpha Warrior, I signed up. It was probably THE most challenging thing I have ever done and I loved every minute of it. Me and my friends trained for a good 5 months for the event and thought we were prepared. Boy was I wrong. This event worked every muscle in my body and I am seeing new bruises 2 days after the event. We weren't able to complete everything, but we did pretty good and had so much fun! There is always next year so training starts after we have all healed up, haha. What I like most was how spectator friendly it was. My wife was able to watch me and my friends throughout the whole event and take pictures and video. i honestly don't think I'll be able to do other obstacle races again because this is exactly what I've always wanted to do. So I guess I should say, "thank you alpha warrior, for allowing me to live one of my dreams!"

Awesome! Very unique from other OCRs with it's spectator-friendly design and emphasis on strength. After multiple mudders, I can honestly say I feel a stronger sense of accomplishment after Alpha Warrior than I had after all the mudders. Organizers say the course is designed for people who maintain an active lifestyle and I agree. I'm still sore several days after. Extremely well organized with friendly staff. Hope everyone spreads the word so this event continues to grow.

First and only time was here in San Antonio back in April and it was an amazing experience. Best pure obstacle course I have done. Great challenge physically and mentally. Can't wait to do it again.

THE BEST!

Jun 18, 2013 by Jack Switzer

The Alpha Warrior course was a first for me! I have ran cross country for 4 years in high school and just graduated. I am a 17 year old athlete that does competitive cheer so I thought I would have a slight advantage in using my body to maneuver this course and MAN was I in for a challenge! I was in the first wave of heat 1 of the day and came in 2nd place!! I was very excited to experience this course and will be signing up for the Elite wave next year!

Yet another excellent event! Staff was very nice, venue was easy access to parking, obstacles are awesome. Venue was well organized. I liked the different food and merchandise vendors. I loved that you didn't charge for parking. I liked the beer garden and umbrellas. Can't wait for the next one.

Great challenge! Great fun!

Jun 18, 2013 by Jeff P.

This challenge was a refreshing change of pace from the typical OCR. Obstacles were different from most other OCRs and demanded more from your body due to the lack of distance between them. For their second official event, it was exceptionally well managed. Volunteers were helpful and ensured athletes were safe. Every athlete knew the medic call due to repeated reminders at the start line. Waves were sent off in groups of 18-24 people at a time, helping to minimize wait times at each obstacle. There were delays at a couple obstacles that were longer than a minute or more, especially Pit Fall and Battering Rams. My biggest gripe would be that not everyone was timed, only elites were. It would be nice to know how long I spent out there on the course so that I could have a metric for improvement next time (and there WILL be a next time!). Also, I didn't know about the black strips we were supposed to tap with our wrist bands until the second to last obstacle. When I asked the volunteer about it, he said that people only needed to tap starting at that point. However, reading the reviews here, people were tapping on the ends of EVERY obstacle. Is there a place where we can see the results from those taps? It isn't advertised on the Alpha Warrior website. Those very small issues aside, I'm excited to do this again. It reminds me of American Ninja Warrior. If like to see more events like this one. Great job, Alpha Warrior team!
