We are the fastest growing urban obstacle race series in the country! City Challenge Race transforms vibrant cities with breathtaking skylines into an exciting obstacle course with walls to get over, water jugs to carry, ropes to climb, cargo nets to climb, sand bags to carry, monkey bars and much more. This unique event is designed to get communities active, test your athleticism, fortitude, and get you out of your comfort zone. We inspire everyone to live a fit and healthy lifestyle. City Challenge Race also raises funds and awareness for local charities and breast cancer.

While races like Spartan, Tough Mudder, and Warrior Dash have become extremely popular it occurred to us to have our challengers run through city streets while attempting to conquer challenging obstacles that do not include water, mud, electrocution, or barbed wire. We are the clean obstacle race. Besides who really wants to risk getting electrocuted, suffer cuts by barbed wire, or ruin a great pair of shoes in disgusting dirty mud? And unlike the other guys, we hate to see back-ups on our courses so we limit each wave of runners to 200 racers to avoid overcrowding. Our race will feature energetic, fun, intense, and clean obstacles! Join active residents of vibrant cities and run through city streets with amazing backdrops of the hosting city’s skyline!

The mission of City Challenge is to enable you to have the most exciting day of your life…period. Our event provides the perfect platform for you to have a great time with friends and family, bond with co-workers, and just have an all-around great time at our event! We strike the perfect balance between fun and physicality. Participating in City Challenge Obstacle Race will be the most fun ass-kicking of your life

Amazing Race!! Over 30 obstacles

Feb 17, 2016 by Bill Wellington

It was a 3 mile course but it was less running and more obstacles! Every 100 yards or so there was a challenge; monkey bars, POLICE CARS, cargo nets, sand bags, walls, and a bunch of other stuff! It was a lot of fun since we did not have to run so much. It was more obstacles then every done before! Can't wait to do it again!

My Favorite OCR

Best swag including a Challenger t-shirt. The race provides water on course, and afterwards bananas, protein drink, as other venues (sponsors) at the finish line. The free pre and post massages are great as you relax and get stretched out while listening as the DJ spins.

And the urban obstacles are the best! You get to jump over real cop cars!!

Loved it!

City Challenge Race is the BEST urban race around. I have ran all their races in their different locations since they started.
I have never had so much fun and experience soo much energy in this epic race. I enjoy seeing the race grow in challengers each time. It's well worth the experience and friends made on the course. All the races have been well organized, easy transportation to get to location, great pre and after party, sweet medals and swag including a Challenger t-shirt. The race provides water on course, and afterwards bananas, protein drink, as other venues (sponsors) at the finish line. The free pre and post massages are great as you relax and get stretched out while listening as the DJ spins.
Their volunteers are great motivators on the course to push and encourage you through.
Photographers are out their catching you in action as you conquer your challenges.

The race was really sub par. The obstacles weren't very challenging and it seemed like an entry level OCR. In addition, it seemed like they just used "walls" as fillers. The medal and shirt were nice but this race was way overpriced for what it was.

This race was the most unorganized event I have volunteered for or attended. The volunteers were called an hour & half before needed, and their sole purpose appeared to be to motivate racers, rather than help them over the obstacles. Additionally, volunteers were promised FREE entry to the race for a volunteer heat after their shift, but in reality it was a bait and switch technique. Upon asking for details regarding the volunteer heat, we were told there wouldn't be one. It was very poor planning on the part of City Challenge Team. Also they ran out of medals for racers that finished after 11:30, which is disappointing.

AWESOME OCR!!!

Event Name: Hoboken City Challenge Race 2014

Over 25 obstacles in a 3.1 mile course! What more could I want?
The obstacles were cool, fun, and refreshing! Not your normal OCR challenges. They had POLICE CARS that you could jump on! Great stuff!

I am going to Miami to do there next race this fall!

EPIC RACE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Racers are sent out in waves allowing the course to not get overcrowded. There is no wait approaching obstacles either. The course is spaced out perfectly with challenging enough obstacles with an amazingly beautiful backdrop of the hosted city's skyline. It's a great race for those who do not like the mud. It's a mud free, clean obstacle race.

If you cannot complete an obstacle it's still challenging by having to do jump squats. But with great camaraderie fellow challengers are right there to help you get through an obstacle you might be stuck at.

Everyone is there for the same purpose- to get out and be active and have FUN. The pricing for the races are very reasonable and the organization keeps you informed via email of race information up until race day. You are never left in the dark with questions. Same goes with social media.

If you have not tried this event or are thinking about it, just do it and sign up. Trust me you will not regret it.

Great Race! Can't wait to do it again!!

Aug 13, 2015 by Sean Fallon

This race has the most obstacles per square mile of any other OCR! It features unique obstacles like police cars that you jump over, cinder block carries and so much more! An added bonus is that there is no mud to mess up your shoes or trek back home! There is so much more energy at this race than any other OCR I have done! I can't wait for the next one! Me and my team are in!
