Product Review: Elevate CBD Pain Relief Cream

By |August 23rd, 2018|

Over the last month, my testing regimen has consisted of 3 days of Elevate Pain Relief Cream (rotating heating/cooling) applied liberally over my entire shoulder from chest to scapula and extending down the arm to the midpoint of both right biceps and triceps three times per day: 8:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 4:00 pm. I then follow with 3 days of Ibuprofen use, 400mg taken at the same 8, 12, 4 intervals. How did Elevate CBD Pain Relief Cream compare to ibuprofen?

Gear Review: Agogie Resistance Training Pants

By |August 16th, 2018|

Athletes are often looking for progressive ways to enhance their training especially when it can save time. I found out about the Agogie Resistance Training pants at an Expo last winter and figured, "if they might be able to help then why the heck not!"

Review: CLIF Bar Fruit Smoothie Filled Bars

By |August 2nd, 2018|

CLIF sent me a couple boxes of their new bars in Tart Cherry Berry, Strawberry Banana, and Wild Blueberry Acai filled. The three boxes didn't last long in our house between a few adventures and a quick snack the boxes were quickly gone. They were so good in fact, I have already been to REI to restock.

Product Review: Atomik Climbing Hold Peg Receivers and Holds

By |July 19th, 2018|

I have been a fan of Atomik Climbing Holds for about as long as I have been doing Obstacle Course Racing (OCR). One of the aspects that make OCR challenging is certain movements are hard to make progressive (it gets harder as you get better). Luckily for me (and you), I found Atomik’s Peg Receivers to allow for a versatile training solution that helps you prepare your forearm and back muscles for even the toughest obstacles.

How to Protect Your Car After a Workout or Race

By |July 12th, 2018|

A few months ago a company called Dry Rub contacted me on Instagram and told me about a new product they had. They told me that it was a car seat cover designed to prevent sweat, stains, and odors after a workout or a race. I was intrigued...

Gear Review: WarmUp Protein Coffee

By |July 5th, 2018|

After WarmUp showed some love on my Instagram page, my curiosity grew. Having already dabbled in protein coffee powders, I was curious how WarmUp would compare. I’ve run the entire bag WarmUp sent me through the ringer, testing all imaginable trials from the plain Jane black coffee to a frozen frap-style concoction that would put that popular corner coffee shop to absolute shame.

Gear Review: Human Octane Men’s Elite Compression Shorts

By |June 28th, 2018|

I have a confession to make: I'm not much for compression gear. I know that might sound strange, considering that I'm about to review it, but, honestly, that's why I'm the perfect candidate to do so. I've spent most of my four-plus years involved in OCR and trail running, wearing loose, comfortable fitting shorts.

Gear Review: Human Octane Women’s Elite Compression Gear

By |June 28th, 2018|

Shortly after launch this spring, I was lucky enough to be selected to try Human Octane’s newest line of compression gear built specifically for obstacle course racing. Here’s my take on the newest line of gear built for badasses, the Women’s Elite Sports Bra and Compression Shorts in gray/black/yellow.

Product Review: Atomik Rig Grips

By |June 21st, 2018|

The first time I encountered, and subsequently failed, a rig the memory and experience stuck with me hard. Moving forward I didn’t want to have that experience again and began working hard to improve on my weaknesses. Thanks to Atomik Climbing Holds and their deep line of rig grips, they have continued to push my obstacle proficiency to the next level.
