Race Recap: Spartan Race Beast Killington 2017

Spartan Race returned again this year to a very familiar venue, Killington Resort, nestled high in the mountains of Vermont.  What was once home to the Spartan World Championship race is now a more obtainable opportunity for many OCR athletes in the Northeast to complete their coveted Spartan trifecta.  The course in years past was 16+ miles with many thousands of feet elevation gain.

OCR 101: How to Pick Your Crew for an Extreme Endurance Event

Although not common in most obstacle races a crew does pop up in some of the more extreme endurance events like Worlds Toughest Mudder as well as is commonplace in ultramarathons and other endurance endeavors. Who you pick for your crew can be just as important as your training, your gear, and your travel plans. A good crew can make an event whereas a bad crew can literally derail your entire race.
