Race Recap: RAM run Autumn Edition

The weekend started with out with the Ram run. Well actually it started out with the OCR Community League warm-up. We traveled to the UK with 6 members of team RAM_nl to do both RAM and Spartan. Since the League finals where planned on Saturday and both the actual Ram run and Spartan Beast on Sunday, we decided to at least join the pre-finals fun run on Saturday at Ram and just see what amount of distance we could cover without risking not being able to run the Spartan on Sunday.

May 31st, 2003 Salt Lake City Classic 10k road race: I had won this race the year before, along with the Utah road racing circuit, and all the sacrifice and hard work was about to pay off. I had been out of college for 6 years now. 6 long years of sacrificing job advancements and career opportunities to chase the dream of being a professional runner. This was going to be the race where I turned heads and ran fast enough to catch sponsors attention. I had trained harder than ever over the winter and I was anxious to prove myself.

Race Recap: Bonefrog Orlando 2016 – Missing a Marker But Finding New OCR Friends

After four months of being off from Obstacle Course Racing (OCR), I was excited to be getting back on a course. I was specially excited to be heading up to Orlando for my first Bonefrog Challenge. In fact, unlike my most recent races, I was actually up early (meaning before the alarm!) so I decided to head straight over and get this show moving. So, despite my GPS guiding me 'relatively near' the venue...which is pretty standard...I got there just after sunrise.

Warrior Dash Parent Company Red Frog Events Commits 1 Percent of Profits to St. Judes

Today Red Frog Events the parent company of Warrior Dash announced today a commitment to St. Jude Children's Reseach Hospital. Red Frog Events will give one percent of the companies profits to the children's research hospital. Since 2009 St. Jude and Red Frog have been partnered and raised 13.5 million for the hospital.

Spartan Race World Championship Ultra Beast Race Recap: Embrace Your Weaknesses, for They Will Make You Stronger

When you get into ultramarathons, especially ultra-OCRs, you will be taken through the highs and lows of performance and emotions. That makes running and watching them especially exciting. On any given day there is a good number of people could win the whole thing. Going into this event, there was a lot of hype regarding as many as 10 different guys who people thought could legitimately win the whole thing. Mine was one of the names being floated, which was an honor and put some more pressure on me. To share with you the joy and the experience of the event, here’s a race recap of the event and the drama about the competition. I’ll throw in helpful mini-tips for people looking to enter the ultra community or improve their racing.

Race Recap: Strong Viking Roskilde Edition – Denmark

Strong Viking Roskilde. The first time Strong Viking set foot in Denmark, and we were there! Six RAM strong we travelled to Denmark by train, being hissed at for whispering in a “silence compartment,” then flew to Copenhagen and met the female versions of Waldorf and Statler on the airport.

WTF Am I Doing Here? (Spartan WC Recap)

This is the Spartan World Championship race, and more specifically, the World Championship heat, where a couple hundred of the best athletes in our sport are waiting to race for the big money and TV glory. Everyone here has had to earn a spot by obtaining a Spartan coin, given out to the top 5 male and female finishers at the other races throughout the year. All of the other athletes in the corral have stood on a podium or been close enough to taste it.
