OCR is about competition with others, with yourself, and against the clock. We battle Father Time as we age, Mother Nature out on the course, and at the end of the day we are all FAMILY. From the Mud Run Guide family to yours, thank you so much for bringing your joy and passion to the sport we all love. Obstacle course racing and mud runs have changed so many of your lives, and has absolutely transformed ours as well.

OCR World Championships Announces 3k Short Course

New for 2016, the OCR Short Course Championships will pit athletes against one another on a fast-paced, obstacle-packed 3 kilometer course. The greatest combination of speed, strength, and technique will be paramount on a course that will leave little room for error in order for athletes to claim the title of World Champion.

Warrior Dash Partners With OCR World Championships

Warrior Dash is excited to partner with the OCR World Championships for their international championship event taking place on October 14-16, 2016 at Blue Mountain Resort, in Ontario, Canada. Competitive Warriors can qualify by finishing in the top 10 for their gender in any Warrior Dash competitive wave. The top three male and top three female finishers will be recognized on stage at their respective Warrior Dash award ceremony.

Spartan Race Makes OCR Debut at The Running Event

New this year is the Experiential Zone in the ACC's Hall 5. Experience obstacle racing from Spartan Race; ElliptiGO elliptical cycling which combines the best of running, cycling and the elliptical trainer; inov-8 strength training for runners; and TRX suspension training, anytime Wed. afternoon through Friday mid-day, Dec. 2 to 4. A media demo is planned Thurs., Dec. 3., starting at 6 a.m.

For Chris Kyle: The Glen Rose Double Beast Weekend

Some of you know me as the Chairman of the Chris Kyle Memorial Run that we hold every year in conjunction with the Spartan Beast in Glen Rose, Tx. The reason we do this at THIS race is that it's held, every year, at Rough Creek Ranch, the same location where Chris and his friend Chad Littlefield were shot and killed in February of 2013 while trying to help a former Marine suffering from severe PTSD.

While most of the talk lately has been about world championships and toughest mudders, there has been a not-so-quiet evolution going on in obstacle course racing (OCR). And it's not coming from the big race promoters or the mega-sponsors/backers or even from the media. It's coming from what, in political terms, would be called a grass roots campaign.
