Tomorrow CBS is set to air the one-hour preview show "Road to World's Toughest Mudder" at 1:30 pm eastern time. The show will highlight the journey of some of the topic contenders from the 2018 World's Toughest Mudder.
For the last four years, I have had the opportunity to serve as editor in chief here at Mud Run Guide. During this time we have built Mud Run Guide into the premier place for obstacle racing information globally. However, now it is time to pass the torch.
Next Monday, December 3 2018, Adventurey is set to announce a new, innovative race format for the 2019 OCR World Championships which will be held 45 minutes north of London on October 11 through 13, 2019. It is really tough to follow a Spartan Kids World Championship and the first ever Elite Para Heat, but there was a race day on Sunday with thousands of people taking on the Super course. This was one of the few weekends where Spartan flipped the distances and ran the Sprint on Saturday and the Super on Sunday...
After Spartan dipped their toes into the trail running world in 2018, they are all in for 2019. Currently, Spartan has twelve trail races scheduled around the country with two legends helping lead the charge. Legendary runners Charlie Engle and Luis Excobar will be leading the change and helping bridge the trailrunning and Spartan culture. Their experience will help to create a new type of trail race.
Twice a year F.I.T. Challenge hosts a small race in Rhode Island. November 17th at Diamond Hill State Park I had the pleasure of attending my 1st F.I.T. Challenge race. F.I.T. has won and been a top contender for many Mud Run Guide best of awards the last few years which made me very excited to see what all the talk was about.
This past weekend, my son had a chance to do more than a homemade obstacle course in the living room. He got to be the one that dragged me to a race. Okay, maybe I helped scout out the race. It’s not easy to find a race when you’re only four and don’t have a credit card.
Next up in my Badass Women of OCR article series, meet JahLisa James. She is a 30-year-old badass who has done multiple obstacle course races and ran her 41st Tough Mudder event when she competed in the 2018 World's Toughest Mudder event in Atlanta.
They can be seen at every event. Usually clad in brightly colored clothing and mud with a huge smile on their face. No, not racers. I am talking about the amazing volunteers that donate their time at each race to help make everyone’s experience a little bit better.
