Any chance coming to Michigan? Have a middle school OCR team, and would love the challenge.

Alpha Warrior San Diego

Jun 19, 2013 by Jeff Foley

By far the best obstacle race out there. The obstacles were well designed, well constructed, and ridiculously fun. Experienced obstacle racers should be able to complete all of the obstacles with a focus on speed. People that are newer to the sport will have their hands full just trying to complete as many obstacles as possible. The event ran more smoothly than races that have been on the scene for years. I could not believe it’s only their second official event. The sky is the limit for Alpha Warrior. There is clearly a market for “mud-runs” but it’s great to have Alpha Warrior to fill the new need for a pure obstacle race. I will definitely be heading to Dallas for their next event.

Best. Race. Ever.

Jun 19, 2013 by Mike Regala

This is the race I've always been waiting for. All of the other courses I've run were either too much damn running, or not physically challenging enough. Crawling through mud or diving into a pool of ice water doesn't require athleticism and isn't challenging. Alpha Warrior addressed all of those issues and tested pretty much everyone... I saw plenty of big gym rats fail on the rings or spider wall. Elite wave for sure next time!

Waited for an event that didn't require you to run for miles to do a few obstacles. Alpha Warrior delivered.

The event I've waited years for!

Jun 19, 2013 by Andrew Espiritu

Like my title says, I have waited years for an event like this. I have been a big fan of Ninja Warrior so when I saw Alpha Warrior, I signed up. It was probably THE most challenging thing I have ever done and I loved every minute of it. Me and my friends trained for a good 5 months for the event and thought we were prepared. Boy was I wrong. This event worked every muscle in my body and I am seeing new bruises 2 days after the event. We weren't able to complete everything, but we did pretty good and had so much fun! There is always next year so training starts after we have all healed up, haha. What I like most was how spectator friendly it was. My wife was able to watch me and my friends throughout the whole event and take pictures and video. i honestly don't think I'll be able to do other obstacle races again because this is exactly what I've always wanted to do. So I guess I should say, "thank you alpha warrior, for allowing me to live one of my dreams!"

Awesome! Very unique from other OCRs with it's spectator-friendly design and emphasis on strength. After multiple mudders, I can honestly say I feel a stronger sense of accomplishment after Alpha Warrior than I had after all the mudders. Organizers say the course is designed for people who maintain an active lifestyle and I agree. I'm still sore several days after. Extremely well organized with friendly staff. Hope everyone spreads the word so this event continues to grow.

First and only time was here in San Antonio back in April and it was an amazing experience. Best pure obstacle course I have done. Great challenge physically and mentally. Can't wait to do it again.

The Alpha Warrior course was a first for me! I have ran cross country for 4 years in high school and just graduated. I am a 17 year old athlete that does competitive cheer so I thought I would have a slight advantage in using my body to maneuver this course and MAN was I in for a challenge! I was in the first wave of heat 1 of the day and came in 2nd place!! I was very excited to experience this course and will be signing up for the Elite wave next year!

Alpha Warrior

Yet another excellent event! Staff was very nice, venue was easy access to parking, obstacles are awesome. Venue was well organized. I liked the different food and merchandise vendors. I loved that you didn't charge for parking. I liked the beer garden and umbrellas. Can't wait for the next one.

Great challenge! Great fun!

Jun 18, 2013 by Jeff P.

This challenge was a refreshing change of pace from the typical OCR. Obstacles were different from most other OCRs and demanded more from your body due to the lack of distance between them. For their second official event, it was exceptionally well managed. Volunteers were helpful and ensured athletes were safe. Every athlete knew the medic call due to repeated reminders at the start line. Waves were sent off in groups of 18-24 people at a time, helping to minimize wait times at each obstacle. There were delays at a couple obstacles that were longer than a minute or more, especially Pit Fall and Battering Rams. My biggest gripe would be that not everyone was timed, only elites were. It would be nice to know how long I spent out there on the course so that I could have a metric for improvement next time (and there WILL be a next time!). Also, I didn't know about the black strips we were supposed to tap with our wrist bands until the second to last obstacle. When I asked the volunteer about it, he said that people only needed to tap starting at that point. However, reading the reviews here, people were tapping on the ends of EVERY obstacle. Is there a place where we can see the results from those taps? It isn't advertised on the Alpha Warrior website. Those very small issues aside, I'm excited to do this again. It reminds me of American Ninja Warrior. If like to see more events like this one. Great job, Alpha Warrior team!

Volunteered and Raced

Jun 18, 2013 by Ken Herzog

Volunteered and ran. On the volunteer side everyone was really easy to work with and the crew checked on us several times throughout our shift to see if anything was needed. Great people and very helpful. On the run side it was run well and was a phenomenal coarse. I can't wait till more events pop up. Next stop Oakland, here I come!

ALpha Warrior Rocks

Jun 18, 2013 by Chantal

LOVED it! Challenging but doable, well run event. I will definitely do this AGAIN and AGAIN!

Jun 18, 2013 by Matthew

Absolutely the best! Done Spartan Races, done triathlons, done other races but this was just a good f'ing time! Some easier obstacles and some more challenging ones. Definetly a test. One thing I didn't like was having to remember to tag my timing chip to the end of each obstacle. I forgot a couple and even though I completed every obstacle 100% my record didn't reflect that. Hope they come up with a better system next time but I will certainly be doing this event again and again and again!

The only thing that would make this event better is if it was held bi-annually. Having to wait a whole year to do it again is killing me! If you want an event that will challenge every muscle in your body then the Alpha Warrior is the event for you!

Absolutely the best event I've done. The obstacles were challenging but doable and extremely fun. Highly recommended!

The best event I have ever been to, Very well organized. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Obstacles were challenging. Location was great. So ready to do another one.

These guys nailed this without a hitch. I do a lot of events. From major races to adventure races and this by far was such an amazing time. Freakin phenomenal.

Apr 29, 2013 by Jason

Very well organized and a lot of fun. I've only run in three obstacle courses but I think overall Alpha Warrior is the best one. I love that there's not a ton of running and that the focus is on a lot of obstacles and not a few obstacles spaced out. I think Alpha Warrior could be improved if they through in a couple of extremely difficult obstacles into the mix but nonetheless it's still a very tough course due to the sheer amount of obstacles. Definitely worth the time and money.

People from my gym were signing up as a team and I wasn't sure if I should do it or not. Long story short, I signed up late for my team and had to pay a total of $95. I was first annoyed with myself for signing up late and having to pay so much money. Well... if the alpha warrior came again tomorrow and I had to pay $95 dollars, I would do it again. It was worth every single penny. Our team had such a blast!! and I don't regret anything. It was so much fun, extremely challenging and I cannot wait to do it again next year. It was one of the greatest things I have ever done!!

Mind over matter

Apr 29, 2013 by Michael Harvey

The most intense event I've done! It's definitely a test of not only physical strength and endurance but mental as well. It was very well organized and structured. Staff an volunteers were very helpful and encouraging. I had a painfully awesome time and can't wait to do it again!

Best full body strength test

Apr 29, 2013 by Mark G

I run many of the other obstacle races and mud runs but Alpha Warrior is a change of pace that was exciting. Not having to run from obstacle to obstacle was different but each challenge was difficult, requiring more upper body strength and agility than other races and was a true test of full body strength. Love the layout, the spectators can follow you to each obstacle and the atmosphere was relaxed but focused on the task at hand. Great event and hopefully grows.

Seriously Fun

Apr 29, 2013 by Kim M.

Well organized, fun and competitive. Teamwork was awesome, volunteers were helpful and cheered you on. Equipment was well maintained. Well planned and promoted!

Apr 29, 2013 by Jay

Extremely organized, extremely fun, and the most spectator friendly course I've ever seen. Every obstacle on the course is original and is so much harder than I would have ever thought. I was completely spent by the end. I've done all the major mud runs and they don't even compare to Alpha Warrior. If you're missing out on an Alpha Warrior race, it's your loss. I'm an Alpha Warrior fan for life!

Apr 29, 2013 by Kate Jasik

Unbelievable upper body work out! I'm a runner and I was gasping for breath a few times!! And my upper body was dead for the next week!!!!!!!!!!! It's also mentally challenging which gives it a unique twist!!! Highly recommend and not for the faint hearted!

Apr 29, 2013 by Gerardo Huerta

This is the best obstacle race I have done. I love that there is no mud or miles! But don't be fooled your heart will be pounding and it is no easy fest to conquer all obstacles. None the less I conquered it and can't wait to do it again! It is very upper body strength geared and there is definitely a mental aspect to several obstacles. The spectators are able to get great pics st every obstacle which was awesome, plus you get to hear them cheering you on the entire course! What an amazing experience! Alpha Warrior is the Alpha obstacle course in my opinion.

Bad Ass

Apr 29, 2013 by Mike

we had a team of 15 take on Alpha! we ran the course twice it was so bad ass.. nothing like ive ever done and exactly what I wanted to do. we will go to every event they have in San Antonio. if they were here permanent I would make it a biweekly or at least a monthly deal as long as the price was reasonable :) recommend this to everyone! !!

Apr 29, 2013 by Sal

By far the best obstacle course out there. Every obstacle test upper body strength and endurance. I still do the mud obstacles out there but the Alpha Warrior is the challengest one of all.

Apr 27, 2013 by Texas Gil

Alpha warrior by far the best obstacle Racine course I have participated in since I have started running I strongly encourage people that love this type of activit such as monkey bars so to sa otherwise you will regret it once you see the video or experience it first hand as a spectator. and went through it with a and went through it with a blast I can't wait for this I can't wait for this to come back again the only thing I would change it is to combine all obstacles for a non stop experience.
