Race Recap: Luck of the “Dirty Leprechaun 5K”

If you were looking for an opportunity to combine your love of OCR with all things green, massive flame thrower-powered fire pits and a few celebratory beers, you’ll be disappointed if you missed Terrapin Events’ Dirty Leprechaun 5k at Lee Farms, just outside of Portland, OR. A muddy 5K with slick terrain, natural and homemade obstacles and frequent inclines, participants took to the course looking to reach that pot of gold(en delicious beer).

Spartan Renews “Honor Series” with USAA Presenting Sponsor

Spartan announced today the return of the military based "Honor Series" with a new presenting sponsor of USAA. The Spartan Honor Series Presented by USAA brings together some of the best Spartan obstacles and military installations around the country. This year athletes will be able to earn an "Honor Series Trifecta" taking on a Sprint, Super, and Beast at various military bases.

Inside OCR Gyms: David Magida’s Elevate Interval Fitness

David Magida has this thing about coming out of retirement to win Spartan Races.  Then he goes back into retirement.  Sort of.  When he is not the face and voice of Spartan Race on TV or live-feed, he is back home in Washington, D. C., where he owns and operates Elevate Interval Fitness.  Now that he podiumed his first race of the 2018 season, he may go back into hiding as he preps to open his third shop.

Rugged Maniac Season Kickoff

Rugged Maniac launched it's 2018 season as it has in years past in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.  This year it landed on St. Patrick’s Day, which made the free beer at the end seem even better and colder. The venue was the same at historic Boone Hall Plantation. The course winds through well-used paths that the plantation uses year round for things like tours and haunted hay rides.

Spartan Ultra World Championships Returns to Iceland in 2018

Emails went out this morning that Spartan will be returning to Iceland for the second annual Spartan Ultra World Championships. The 24-hour championship race is slated for Saturday, December 8, 2018.  This year the championship will include an elite field, age group awards, team, and open divisions.

Badass Women of OCR – Sarah Horsburgh

This 31-year-old single parent chooses to embrace a healthy lifestyle with her family. New York City GORUCK Light

So I did a thing this past weekend. It involved vacuuming, carrying heavy stuff and honoring a hero. Do you know what I did? If you said a GORUCK Light you are correct!! I am all for trying out new things so I thought I would step out of my comfort zone and give it a go.
