Badass Women of OCR – Lisa Nondorf

Lisa Nondorf had been brought to my attention before as someone that needed to be profiled for this series. She has a background in competitive gymnastics and diving, which provides her with a versatile skill set for the OCR (mental grit, discipline, and stamina). In this, her third season of OCR she has been able to podium 8 out of 10 races.

Why DO We Write Race Reviews?

Race reviews are important to OCR, as are many of the other stories we write about the sport.  They inform us, inspire us, share stories, remind us of our first obstacle race and most importantly serve as a record of the sports progression throughout the years.

Facility Review – The Endurance Factory

The look and feel of the place took me back many years to when I started OCR at ABF Mud Run.  The gym is tucked into an industrial park.  It also reminded me of iMETTLE.  They are OCR training heavens.  All the basic stuff is there.  But the Endurance Factory has more.

The High Costs of Escaping your Bubble

The great thing about OCR  is that there is an abundance of dedicated runners (and walkers!) who have come together because of a struggle. I can't even begin to guess how many thousands of people have transformed their bodies, minds, and souls because of these events. I'm not just talking about weight loss and muscle gain, but amazing people who have overcome drugs addictions, alcohol dependencies, bulimia, anorexia, cancer, and other major health concerns.

For Part II of this article, we focus on another 4 F's - Faster, Fitter, Farther, and Funner. What would a "resolutions" article be if it didn't include a guide for training more, eating better, and dropping weight to get faster or stronger, right?

How I Got into OCR: An Off-Season Tale

I signed up for my first Spartan Race in the fall of 2016 after a coach at my gym decided to get a team together. I had been working out pretty regularly for about a year after being away from exercise for a long time. I ran my first Broad Street Run in Philadelphia (10-miler) a few months earlier and was training for the upcoming Philadelphia Half Marathon,
