BattleFrog Series Update – BFX Rule Change

Since the inception of BattleFrog’s BFX, there have been several changes to tighten and hone the design to accommodate the growing numbers. But since the very first representation, the one thing that the athletes have called out for, was mandatory obstacle completion. Okay racers…you spoke, they listened. We spoke to David Moore, BattleFrog’s wearer of [...]

Race Recap: Armageddon Ambush

This would be my first Armageddon Ambush in Hialeah, FL (think City of Miami and go west a bit). But it wouldn't be my first trip to Amelia Earhart Park. Several races have been held there. With this in mind, my first challenge was to keep my expectations in check. I didn't know much about this race, and I didn't want to influence the experience by comparisons to other events there.

2017 OCR Orphan Adventure Mission Trip

More than a year ago, Steve McCollum of Back2Back Ministries observed what so many of us already know – that the OCR community is filled with outstanding individuals who not only excel on the course but in life. He immediately envisioned how a group of obstacle racers could provide a new and welcome contribution to some orphans in Mexico. Race Recap: BattleFrog Greater Kansas City

This weekend was my first obstacle race of the 2016 season and I decided to start it with a bang at Battle Frog Greater Kansas City which was actually held in Topeka, KS… Don’t get me started on this practice by obstacle racing companies of naming a race location by its closest major metropolitan area and not the city/ state in which it’s actually located, but I digress. I have been training long and hard on obstacles since my last Battle Frog event and was looking forward to testing my metal after all this training.

Last Week in OCR – May 1st Edition

This is the race SO many of you have been waiting for since the season kicked off. While Saturday racers had to rely on the insanity of the course itself, Sunday racers were treated to proof that Norm Koch has indeed made some dirty deals with a particular underground entity. Rain, wind and cold took out many a racer on this already incredibly challenging course, and even without all that on Saturday, when it came to numbers on the UB, over 800 started, but less than half finished.

Faces at the Races – Chris Fischer

I am just an average guy born and raised from a small town in Wisconsin. I have always loved to play sports and be part of a team. The most important things to me are my faith, family, and friends. I am somewhat new to this OCR community but have enjoyed it thus far and looking forward to continuing to meet new people! Oh yeah and one more thing I have lost over 200 pounds in the last two years!
