Discovery Channel is currently in the casting process for a new show called “The Wheel” from Pilgrim Studios. The casting team is currently looking for adventurers who are willing to survive in all conditions for the new series. Last week, Mud Run Guide had a chance to talk with the casting company about the new Discovery Channel series.
Currently, the casting team behind the new show is looking for participants over the age of 18 to take part in a once in a lifetime adventure. Participants will be dropped in various locations around the world alone and must use their skills to survive for an undetermined amount of time. Producers will “spin the wheel” and place participants in conditions from scorched deserts to frozen tundra and beyond. The show is looking to test people's skill, knowledge, strengths, pride, and courage over the course of the 8-week adventure.
Who is The Wheel looking for?
The casting crew is looking for ordinary adventurers. The people who like to camp for days on end, know how to filter their own water, and are comfortable catching your own food. When Mud Run Guide spoke with the team behind the scenes they emphasised adventure and adaptability as traits they were looking for in participants. For those into the outdoors and adventure, this documentary-style show will have you competing against yourself and testing your limits.
For those who enjoy Survival Run, Death Race, Agoge, SISU Iron, THE SUCK, or other tests of survival and endurance this show might just be up your alley. From the casting team, “We are looking for adaptable people who are ready to prove to themselves or the people in their lives that they can accomplish anything!”

May I ask , what are the qualifications ? And what items are people allowed
to bring with then , and how many, ( i.e. Tooth brush, extra clothing ) . Is
there things that would disqualify one from being considered, such as age,
weight, etc ?

I have been a preppers for 10 years been working out for 35 years and a wilderness and wildlife my hole life,and have always been good looking, lol.
So if you’re doing the math,I’m not a kid 53 now ,having the chance to catch (the wheal ).I thought to myself “that would be such a great way to test my skills “.
Back wen I was 21 to 35 I us to get dropped off in the woods by myself for a week to 2 weeks at a time.Now being older and a bit more beat up,I want to take on these Yong kids,and prove that age is just a number and to prove to myself that I can still adapt and survive!
I’m am a correctional office they holds a lieutenant position at the St. Louis County Jail. Some say to be the most dangerous city in America…? I am an outdoorsman that loves trout fishing and hunting with my old man. I have awesome wife that is a nurse and a 4 year old that looks up to me like crazy. As of today my wife is 11 weeks pregnant. Reason why I mentioned that we have spent a ton of money doing fertility treatments in a span of 2 years. With this prior came 2 miss carriages. We are really holding on to this one. Also if I get selected to the next wheel this might be good for TV reasons…?? Lastly I also for the last 15 years been coaching Junior AAU wrestling at Oakville high school. At the Jail I am a certified Defensive tactics instructor Teaching new and existing recruits Just looking for the ultimate life changing experience. Thanks guys and gals!!

Put me to the test I would love to prove to myself my family,friends and the viewers I have what it takes to concore all six climates. I am healthy and able.and I know I have what it takes. I can purify my own water,I can hunt fish and enjoy being outdoors. If I had the chance I know I have what it takes to be out for the full 60days.
