Race Recap: Rugged Maniac Kitchener, Ontario

For the past three years I have been trying to get to a Rugged Maniac and finally, this year, I was able to make that a reality. The race was held at the Chicopee Ski Resort in Kitchener, Ontario. This resort is steeped in history dating back to 1805. With multiple ski runs available, it provided racers with a variety of elevations that were well marked and evenly cleared.

The day started out cold and raining so prior to the start of wave one most racers and spectator's where huddled up either in a building with heat or under something trying to stay dry. You could see from the racers and spectators faces people were both tired and cold. With about five minutes to go time, the MC/announcer started getting racers pumped up and motivated and it was like someone flipped a light switch and the racers and spectators all started to get fired up and motivated.

Dead End Race Announces Stadium Race

On October 10th, 2015, The Dead End Race will present a brand new event like none other... The Dead End Race Stadium Edition at the TD Place in Ottawa! For the first time in Canada, obstacle racers will be able to participate in a race that takes place 100% in a stadium. 25 obstacles will be positioned throughout the stadium, directly on the turf and in the upper levels.
