The summer continues to roll on with obstacle races across the globe taking place every weekend. This past weekend OCR was everywhere from the Spartan Race European Championships, Terrain Races in Flagstaff, Arizona to BoneFrog Challenge in South Carolina. Rugged Maniac made a stop outside of Kansas City while Tough Mudder was outside of the Big Apple, with both a full course and a Tough Mudder half. With over 40 obstacle races and mud runs taking place this weekend around the globe, that is a lot of muddy, wet, and challenging obstacles to overcome.
The famed Scandanavian obstacle series TOUGHEST headed to the United Kingdom for the first time over the weekend. OCRTUBE's Arnel Banawa took the trek across the pond to cover all the action including insights from OCR World Champion Jon Albon. The course offered over 40 obstacles on the 8K course set on rolling hills of the United Kingdom. Watch this heart pounding fast action video recap from OCRTUBE.
The Lake Las Vegas WTM course is pretty similar to the landscape from a particular movie from my childhood - the desert of Tatooine. It's actually quite remarkable how the "resort section" of Lake Las Vegas has lush green colf courses replete with water fountains, finely manicured lawns wrapping the easments from hotel to hotel. As soon as you reach the cul-de-sac at the top of the hill and enter Tough Mudder land there's a dramatic shift in scenery
World’s Toughest Mudder 2015 is almost upon us. Racers will take to the start line on November 14, 2015 at Lake Las Vegas for the second year. The community is buzzing on all social networks. Before TMHQ lets too many more details slip I felt it was time to get some things many are feeling out in the open.
The story of the weekend was the crowning of the new Spartan Race World Champion Robert Killian. While most of the obstacle racing world had their eyes on Lake Tahoe around the rest of the country a number of other races were taking place with new challenges and obstacles for competitors who couldn't make the trip to Squaw Valley.
Happy Labor Day. A quiet weekend in obstacle racing in the United States but in Europe it was another story. Both Toughest Oslo and Spartan Race European Championships took place. Stateside Spartan Race had it's first College Classic race at Cornell University.
On this episode of Obstacle and Adventure Weekly, we get inside the head of Joe De Sena, the CEO of Spartan Race at his home in Pittsfield VT on the eve of the 2014 Spartan Race World Championship. Then, we meet up with the winner of that race, along with the 2014 OCR World Championships, Jon Albon.
