The Reebok All Terrain Super OR's are extremely light and flexible with great traction, and just the right combo of heel-toe drop and cushioning along with a midfoot rock plate to make them great trail racing shoes on non-technical terrain. The upper is surprisingly breathable for a high-tech "durable" material, and they are extremely comfortable if you have a pretty normal foot width; though they may prove to be a little too narrow for some athletes.
On the heels of yesterday's announcement of a new competitive wave by Spartan Race. Today, the company announced Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe is set to host the Reebok Spartan Race World Championship presented by North Lake Tahoe, on October 1, 2016. The 2016 Spartan Race World Championship is one of the many races taking place over the weekend. Athletes of all abilities, from elites to weekend warriors will spend the extended weekend racing and celebrating another successful Spartan Race season.
This morning Spartan Race announced starting in March participants will be able to sign up for not only Elite and Open heats but a third additional category, the Competitive Heat. The competitive heat will serve as a middle ground between the Elite field and the Open heat and help bridge the gap for many age group racers and competitive but not elite racers.
Recently, applications closed for the upcoming Spartan TV show and a casting call went out to elite obstacle racers. The Spartan Race Fittest Bride Challenge presented by QALO concluded over the weekend resulting in Ms. Polly Lynn from Killington Vermont, being crowned the winner. “It hasn’t quite sunk in yet that I’m Spartan’s Fittest Bride, but I’m thrilled,” said Ms. Lynn, 32.

I attended last year's race and barely survived the 10-hour ass kicking that it delivered.
Spartan made its first appearance in the Asheville area in Black Mountain, NC today using The Grove Sand & Stone Company as its location. There was plenty of parking relatively close to the start line and the festival area was also nicely spread out on this beautiful property. The scenery was amazing.
Happy Labor Day. A quiet weekend in obstacle racing in the United States but in Europe it was another story. Both Toughest Oslo and Spartan Race European Championships took place. Stateside Spartan Race had it's first College Classic race at Cornell University.
The Reebok Spartan Race returned to New England for the Sprint version of their famous racing series. For me personally, the buzz that usually surrounds a Spartan weekend just wasn’t there. A couple months earlier, they brought the first even Super to the area and held it at a brand new venue, a local dairy farm in Central Massachusetts.
